Change Management

Change can occur for lots of different reasons, from the challenges of growth that an organisation is facing, changing global markets, changes in strategy, technological change, competitive processes, customer pressures or shifting markets etc. According to research organizations are undergoing major change on average every 3 years, whilst smaller changes are occurring almost continually, and there are certainly no signs in the current economic climate that this will alter. The first step in making a change initiative successfully is to understand the organization and match the initiative to the real needs of the organization. It is important to recognize that organizational change is fundamentally about changing people’s behaviour in certain desired ways.
Whilst each change is unique, there are leadership and management skills such as visioning, listening, prioritizing, planning, providing feedback and rewarding success, that are essential in any successful change.
